What is the differences for Cosmetic plastic tubes between 2 layers & 5 layers ?

Cosmetic tubes are divided into single-layer, double-layer, and five-layer tubes, which are different in terms of anti-pressure, anti-penetration and hand feeling. Cosmetic plastic tubes such as five-layer tubes are composed of outer layer, inner layer, two adhesive layers, and plus a barrier layer. Double-layer pipes are more commonly used, and single-layer pipes can also be used for middle and low grades.

Today we will tell you the difference between 2-layer & 5-layer PE tubes.It may help the clients know which material may more suitable for their formula( suggest making formula test before ordering a new product). 
See below 2-layer tube’s structure. Both of the 2 layers are made of PE material.

It is very convenient to use, soft-touch ,good scalability and impact resistance.

However, as a disadvantage of bad gas barrier, the dissolved aromatic compounds are easy to be oxidized.So It is applied to be cosmetic packaging for facial cleansing cream, hand cream, facial mask ,  body lotion shower gel , shampoo  and so on .

But for the 5-layer tube, there will be an EVOH layer in the middle. The EVOH could bring the better barrier function to the plastic squeeze tube.EVOH or Ethylene vinyl alcohol, is a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl alcohol and it is an excellent barrier against gases, solvents and oils. It is used in packaging for skincare (natural) and  pharmaceutical products, to extend their storage life and to prevent the packaging from deforming.
